12 Great Deals on Upcycled Products, Headphones, and Smartwatches

The long Labor Day weekend is over, but some companies are still offering discounts throughout the week. Better yet, some of these deals are on our favorite reusable products, bags, and clothing made from recycled materials. Others are all-time low prices we've seen on tech. Happy deals hunting!

Special offer for Gear readers: Get WIRED for just $5 ($25 off). This includes unlimited access to WIRED.com, full Gear coverage, and subscriber-only newsletters. Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day.

Deals on Reusable Products

Swapping out even one or two disposable items for some of our favorite reusable products can help make a difference on your wallet and Earth. See our Best Recycled Bags and Best Recycled Clothing and Accessories guides for more.

Quip Refillable Dental Floss Pick for $8 ($5 off)Quip

This price is for the all-plastic dental floss case. If you prefer a metal top, those options are also discounted ranging from $12 to $15, depending on which color you choose. A floss pick makes the chore of flossing a little easier. Quip lets you reuse the pick so all you have to throw out is the string. Less waste! You can set up a subscription for new floss too.

Stasher Silicone Storage Bag 4-Pack for $50 ($17 off)—Click the CouponAmazon

Several Stasher bundles and individual bags have 25 percent off coupons available right now. These are a WIRED favorite and they do everything a single-use Ziplock bag does but, of course, they don't need to be thrown out and are dishwasher-, freezer-, and microwave-safe. You can also use them to keep supplies like screws, crayons, and bobby pins organized.

Lo and Sons Hanover 2 Backpack for $143 ($95 off)Lo & Sons

This backpack is made using 22 plastic bottles turned into water-resistant polyester. It's versatile, thanks to a detachable insert with four pockets. Keep it stocked with your work or school supplies during the day and take it out when you need more space, like for use as an overnight bag for traveling. WIRED senior associate editor Adrienne So used to swap hers out for a diaper-changing station when traveling with the kids.

Patagonia Black Hole Backpack for $104 ($45 off)REI

This sale is only for the purple color, so if you want a different hue you'll have to pay full price. But it's a good bag for a solid discount. It stays organized with sleeves and pockets meant for a laptop, sunglasses, wallet, and phone, and it's made from 100 percent recycled polyester that can withstand the elements.

Verloop Knit Sock Slippers for $29 ($26 off)Verloop

These comfy slippers are soft, warm, and well made. I have the yin-yang pair, but there are other cute designs like flowers and checkerboards. The rest of the clearance section is worth checking out too for additional dollars off hats, scarves, and even pillow covers.

30A Recycled Tee for $25 ($7 off)30A

30A is having a sale on a bunch of T-shirts and hats right now, ranging from a few bucks to 75 percent off. All the brand's beachy shirts are made from about eight recycled plastic bottles blended with cotton. I tried a plain white tee from this brand that's no longer available, but I particularly like this shark design and the others advocating for cleaner oceans and beaches

More Great DealsAbbott BinaxNow Antigen Rapid Self-Test Kit for $16 ($4 off)Amazon

The days of getting a pile of free Covid-19 tests from the gubmint are over. The latest variant may be spreading like a Saskatchewan wildfire, but ol' Diamond Joe's tapped, I tell ya. Now, you have to buy your own Covid tests if you want to avoid sickening your loved ones. Abbot’s BinaxNow kit provides results within 15 minutes of swabbing your nose and inserting the sample into the included test card. There's a companion app to self-report your results. Those who test negative will receive a temporary encrypted digital pass they can use as official proof of their test result if it's needed to get into an event. This is a small but nice deal if you're looking to stock up for winter.

BIC Xtra-Smooth Mechanical Pencil for $7 ($2 off)Amazon

It's another small deal, but the savings add up when you buy in bulk. These BIC mechanical pencils are a time-tested classic and are still among our favorites for tossing in a drawer or between the coils of a spiral notebook. You can nab 40 of them for less than $7—great for the new school season.

OnePlus Pad Android Tablet With Free Stylus for $430 ($50 off)OnePlus

This is a holdover from Labor Day deals but it's one of the first real price dips on the OnePlus Pad (8/10, WIRED Recommends). If you've been itching to buy a tablet (one that's not an iPad), then this is one of the best you can get at the moment, especially at this price. Performance is pretty good, the screen is sharp and fluid, and the battery life is great. This deal comes with a stylus, but you'll need to purchase the OnePlus keyboard cover separately if you want to do some work on it.

Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Smartwatch for $180 ($100 off)Amazon

Samsung has a new Galaxy Watch6 this year, but the Galaxy Watch5 is still a great buy, especially at this price. Last year, WIRED reviews editor Julian Chokkattu said this watch is “practically a must-have for anyone with an Android phone” (7/10 WIRED Recommends), praising it as a leap forward that nearly catches the standard-setting Apple Watch. This price is lower than what we've seen on Amazon Prime Day.

Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro Wireless Earbuds for $178 ($50 off)Amazon

This is the lowest price we have ever tracked on Samsung's Galaxy Buds2 Pro (9/10, WIRED Recommends). They're comfortable, and the dual-driver array delivers better audio quality than most wireless earbuds at this price. The microphones sound great too and there's excellent active noise cancellation.

Squishmallow Mystery Box 5-Pack for $30 ($20 off)Amazon

I ordered this one myself. Not because my (Martin’s) 8-year-old daughter needs more Squishmallows—she most certainly does not. But the sooner I fill her room with Squishmallows the sooner I'm done buying them and this is a great deal on a five-pack.

Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Headphones for $278 ($70 off)Amazon

These are the previous generation of our top overall wireless headphones. Sony's WH-1000X lineup has produced some of the best noise-canceling headphones for nearly a decade and these scored a rave review (9/10, WIRED Recommends) back in 2020. They have good mics and better noise cancelation than any of the earlier models. If you want the newest generation, the Sony WH-1000XM5, they are also on sale for $348.

Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP07 Air Purifier for $600 ($150 off)Amazon

We gave this Dyson air purifier a rave review, saying the “magic of the Dyson is that it combines purifying, humidifying, and cooling into one, beautiful act,” and citing the expense as the only drawback. Well, the expense is a little more manageable right now.
