Smart Speaker Deals

Google Nest Audio Smart Speaker for $60 ($40 off)

Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond

In our review, we say the midsize Google Nest Audio Smart Speaker (8/10, WIRED Recommends) has both great sound and a discreet design. It offers a lot of value in the guide to the Best Google Assistant Speakers. Essentially, buyers get the most bang for their buck—and now that it's $40 off, that's especially true.

Google Nest Mini for $25 ($25 off)

Target, Best Buy, Walmart

It's important to note that this speaker was $19 during Black Friday 2020, so it may drop in price again. These sorts of small speakers go on sale quite frequently. You shouldn't buy them at full price. They're undeniably convenient—aside from playing music or setting alarms, you can also ask Google Assistant about the weather, traffic reports, and more. Several smart home devices (including many listed in this roundup!) can be controlled with Google Assistant or other voice assistants.

Google Nest Hub Max 10-Inch Smart Display for $179 ($50 off)

Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond

Unlike most smart displays, the Google Nest Hub Max (8/10, WIRED Recommends) has a video camera. That means it can be used for video calling, as well as the usual tasks like displaying recipes or spouting off weather information. The camera does have a privacy shutter, but reviewer Matt Jancer found it useful for home security and liked its cool (and just a touch creepy) facial- recognition-based features. Don't miss our guide to keeping your smart home as private as possible.

Google Nest Hub Smart Display for $50 ($50 off)

Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond

Google makes a plethora of smart displays, but this is one of the absolute best. The 7-inch touchscreen is nice, the sunrise alarm is nice, the gesture controls are nice … and it does it all without a camera. Read more about it in our in-depth review

Facebook Portal for $79 ($100 off)

Amazon, Best Buy, Target

Like the aforementioned Portal Go, the Facebook Portal is super handy for video calling. It's also made by Facebook. These do go on sale a few times throughout the year; $79 is the lowest price WIRED has tracked. Here's our full review

Facebook Portal Go for $149 ($51 off)

Amazon, Target, Best Buy

Shopping in a way that aligns with your morals can be tricky. That's why we try to include several retailer options when possible! With a device made directly by Facebook (or "Meta"), it can be a bit trickier. Facebook, as a company, has faced a lot of public scrutiny. When stripped from its maker, the Portal Go (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is a good gadget, and this is the best price we have seen. It's particularly handy for video chatting, whether with long-distance relatives or with colleagues. Should you want to buy one, this deal is a goodie. Should you not, there are some other products on sale that might be a better fit.

Echo Show 5 (2nd Gen) for $45 ($40 off)

While we much prefer Amazon's larger Echo Show devices, the Show 5 is super cute and nails the basics. You can ask Alexa nearly anything, video chat (there's a camera), and use it as a smart home hub. We appreciate the physical shutter for the camera when it's not in use, but the smaller screen detracts from the magic and limits its usefulness.

Echo Show 8 (2nd Generation) for $90 ($40 off)

Amazon, Best Buy

While we prefer Google Assistant, this is the best alternative smart display for Alexa fans. It's a good size for the kitchen counter or night stand and you can use it to watch video, ask Alexa questions, and make video calls. It also makes a nice digital photo frame if you use Amazon Photos.

Lenovo Smart Clock for $35 ($45 off)

In our guide to the Best Smart Displays, we say the Lenovo Smart Clock is perfect for a bedroom. Since the display is on the small side, it works particularly well on a nightstand or dresser. The interface is minimal, but still helpful, providing at-a-glance information on important reminders or weather updates (as well as the time). The illuminated numbers will dim while you sleep, and you can charge your phone using the USB-A port on the back of the display. Less nightstand clutter means more room for water glasses! The bare-bones Smart Clock Essential is also on sale for $30 ($15 off).

Smart Home Deals

Be sure to check out our guides on How to Set Up a Smart Home and How to Keep a Smart Home Private for tips and helpful advice.

Google Nest Cam—Has a Battery—for $150 ($30 off)

Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond

This Google Assistant camera made our list of the Best Outdoor Security Cameras, too. It will blend seamlessly with homes that already have some Google Assistant gear (or will in the future). The camera works as intended once the easy, renter-friendly installation is complete, and we like the wide-angle view combined with the motion detection. The battery lasts for quite a while—about a month—and we think the $6 per month subscription is worth it for the additional features. You can read more about the camera in our roundup

Eufy Security 2K Video Doorbell Battery Powered for $170 ($30 off)

Amazon (Click the Coupon Button)

We're testing this video doorbell now, and it's a great budget pick. This version is wire-free so you don't have to worry too much about installation. We saw it drop down $30 more, but $170 is still not a bad deal.

Philips Hue White & Color Ambiance Starter Kit for $140 ($50 off)

While they certainly aren't cheap, Philips Hue smart lights are among the best you can buy with a wide choice of colors and temperatures, an easy-to-use app, and reliable performance. The starter kit includes three bulbs, a hub so your smart lights can connect more reliably on their own mesh network making them more responsive than lights that connect via Bluetooth, and a handy wireless dimmer switch.

Arlo Pro 4 Indoor/Outdoor Security Camera Bundle for $400 ($200 off)

The Arlo Pro 4 is our top pick for the Best Outdoor Security Camera. This bundle includes three cameras, respective batteries, and some additional pieces like a yard sign and anti-theft mounts, all at the same price as it would usually cost to buy two of these cameras separately. The price here is hard to beat, especially for folks that were planning on buying any of the components individually.

Nest Wi-Fi Mesh Router 2-Pack for $179 ($90 off)

Target, Staples, Walmart

With single routers selling for $139, and that being a good deal, snagging two for $179 is a steal. There are newer and faster routers on the market, but this should do t he trick for most homes, especially considering the price. Here's the detailed review. Just keep in mind that there's no support for Wi-Fi 6, so these aren't as future-proof as some other options.

Nest Thermostat for $90 ($40 off)

Amazon, Target ($100), Best Buy ($100)

While we haven't officially reviewed it, associate editor Parker Hall thinks this device is more than good enough to be his main thermostat. Nest thermostats are generally convenient and reliable. Their intelligent scheduling features help cut down on costs from things like heating a house when nobody's home. Utility companies often offer rebates for installing them, too, so it may be even cheaper in the long run.

EufyCam 2 Pro Outdoor Security Camera for $250 ($100 off)

Amazon, Walmart

Here's another Eufy camera that has hit its lowest price ever. This outdoor camera is in our Best Outdoor Security Cameras guide, and we like it because you don't need to subscribe to a monthly plan to get all the important features. You get two battery-powered security cameras and a hub. The cameras record wirelessly to the hub (which has 16 GB of storage), and this hub can connect to your Wi-Fi (or via Ethernet). The batteries are slated to last a full year before requiring a recharge (that tracked in our testing).

Wyze Cam V3 With Google Nest Hub for $70 ($65 off)

You can't beat Wyze for some of the most affordable security cameras around, and this bundle combines the Wyze Cam V3 with one of our favorite smart displays, the Nest Hub 2nd Gen (7/10, WIRED Recommends). The Wyze Cam V3 has to be plugged in, so works better as an indoor camera, even though it has an IP65 rating. It produces decent 1080p footage and comes with free 14-day cloud storage.

Google Chromecast With Google TV for $40 ($10 off)

Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Adorama

The Google Chromecast With Google TV (8/10, WIRED Review) might have an annoying name, but it remains a top pick in our list of the Best 4K Streaming Devices. It's great for Google TV and phone streaming. It has Google Assistant built-in, and it'll let you search for a show or movie to find out which of the numerous streaming services has the content you want to watch.

50 percent off Simplisafe Home Security Systems + Free SimpliCam

Aiming to cover all of your security needs with a system that includes security cameras, motion sensors, entry sensors, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and a keypad, Simplisafe's Home Security System (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is impressive. Easy to set up, reliable, and with no need for a monthly fee, this is a cost-effective alternative to traditional security systems. The only element we don't like is the security camera.

Ember Temperature Control Smart Mug for $100 ($30 off)

We all know the horror of sipping cold coffee or tea. If you have a tendency to leave your mug for too long and find the warmth has gone, the Ember mug is for you. You can pick your ideal temperature and the Ember will keep it there. You can even sync with Apple Health to track your caffeine intake.

LG Dual Inverter Air Conditioner for $339 ($40 off)

It might be a strange time to buy an air conditioner in most parts of the US, but buying off-season is the best way to save a few bucks, right? WIRED reviews editor has been using this window AC (8/10, WIRED Recommends) since the summer and says it's incredibly quick to cool his bedroom, and fairly quiet. There's Alexa and Google Assistant support so you can turn it on with your voice, or even toggle it on before you arrive home. The price has been creeping down over the past few months, but this is the lowest price ever on this AC unit.

Lovebox Original Color & Photo for $96 ($24 off)—Use Code BLACKFRIDAY

(Enter Code BLACKFRIDAY at Checkout)

The Lovebox is a small device with a screen you can ship to a loved one, and then send digital messages (photos, written notes, stickers) to the device from afar using an app. It makes a great gift for long-distance friends or family. It's highlighted in our guide to the Best Stress-Relieving Gifts. It allows for thoughtful, intentional words of encouragement, almost like a digital hug. Texting might work just as well, but Lovebox adds a special element of connection that some other gadgets lack.

Dyson TP01 Pure Cool Air Purifier and Fan for $300 ($100 off)

This air purifier doubles as a fan and we liked it when we reviewed it a few years ago (8/10, WIRED Recommends). It's still very expensive, but it doesn't take up much room. That's handy if you don't have the space for a separate fan and purifier.

Muji Aroma Diffuser for $80 ($39 off)

Whether you're looking to design the perfect yoga space or just chill out, an oil diffuser like this one from Muji can help. WIRED reviews editor Julian Chokkattu has the smaller version and loves it (it's also on sale for $50 ($20 off). It's a nice alternative to scented candles and you don't have to worry about naked flames. It's recommended for spaces around 100 to 133 square feet.

Eufy Smart Scale C1 for $18 ($22 off)—Amazon Prime Members Only

(Click the Coupon Button, Prime Membership Required)

This is a simple, easy-to-use smart scale, that offers a decent range of different measurements. It made our Best Smart Scales guide, as we think it's very competitively priced (even more so with this discount). To get more than the basic weight readout you must download the EufyLife app and connect your phone via Bluetooth.

Eufy 2K Pan & Tilt Security Camera for $40 ($12 off)

Amazon (Expired), Walmart (Expired)

This indoor camera is one of our favorites for pet owners. You can record pet commands to the camera, and when it recognizes your cat or dog in a preselected area of your home, the camera will playback the audio command. That might be handy if the dog's not supposed to be on the couch when no one's home. It's the lowest price we've ever tracked.

Furniture Deals

★ Burrow Nomad Sofa from $1,345 ($150 off)—Use Code CM21

(Enter Code CM21 at Checkout)

Burrow's Black Friday sale offers up to 15 percent off, with additional savings based on how much you spend. We tested the Arch Nomad Sectional, which is a model that includes a chaise lounge and therefore costs a bit more, and included it in our guide to the Best Couches. All configurations are on sale, and they all feature quick assembly and plush, comfortable cushions.

Albany Park Kova Sofa for $1,251 ($139 off)—Use Code BLACKFRIDAY

(Enter Code BLACKFRIDAY at Checkout)

WIRED reviews editor Julian Chokkattu has been testing this couch for a month or so and says it's super comfortable—so much so that he, his partner, and his pup have all repeatedly fallen asleep on it instead of moving to the bed. It can fit the three of them too because it's super roomy and long at 84 inches. It's very easy to set up (perfect for anyone that moves around a lot), and the velvet upholstery is very soft to the touch.

Allform 3-Seat Sofa for $1,595 ($399 off)

There's a lot to like about this comfortable couch, from the deep-set cushions that hold their shape to Allform's commitment to sustainability. We also highlighted its stain resistance in our Best Couches guide. You can choose from a wide range of fabrics or leather finishes.

Elephant In A Box Dynamic Sofa for $800 ($200 off)

Best Buy, Elephant In A Box ($960)

While this brand made it into our Best Couches guide, it is not the most comfortable around. But it is functional, very sturdy, and built to last. It is easy to assemble, with Velcro strips and bars that snap easily into place. You can choose from different optional segments—such as desk pop-outs on the arms and a matching ottoman—to turn it into the sofa you want.

Benchmade Modern Tyler Sofa for $2,933 ($392 off)

Specializing in couches for 1950s or '60s-styled homes, Benchmade does a great line in luxury seating with a polished website that makes it easy to select the couch, color, and size you want. Senior WIRED reviewer Scott Gilbertson called this “the best-looking and most comfortable couch I've ever sat on.”

Inside Weather Levi Armchair for $858 ($95 off)—Use Code BLACKFRIDAY

(Enter Code BLACKFRIDAY at Checkout)

Some spots around the home simply cry out for a comfy armchair, and this one from Inside Weather made our Best Couches guide. You can customize arm style, upholstery, pillow shape, cushion shape, leg style, and more to get the perfect finish for your space. It's also roomy for an armchair, with generous arms to set things on, and solid construction that feels like it will last.

Laura Davidson Office Chair for $383 ($67 off)—Use Code BLACKFRIDAY

(Enter Code BLACKFRIDAY at Checkout)

The stylish Soho Pro ribbed chair is finished in black Italian leather, with an aluminum frame and base, and chrome topped casters. Assembly is easy and WIRED's Matt Jancer says it's a fantastic quality chair. You can also snag the synthetic leather version for $230 ($40 off).

20 Percent Off Sectional Sofas at Lovesac

This deal applies to more products than just the Sactional line, but those customizable, comfortable products are our favorites from Lovesac. The Sactional is featured in our guide to the Best Couches. We also really like the new and optional Stealthtech upgrade (8/10, WIRED Recommends), though it's extremely expensive—so better to get it while it's on sale.

★ Fully Jarvis Bamboo Standing Desk for $484 ($85 off)

The Fully Jarvis standing desk has been a WIRED Gear team favorite for a while. It's the top pick in our Work From Home Gear Guide. The discounts are matched at Amazon on most options. Just be sure to clip the corresponding on-page coupon.

All Our Favorite Black Friday Mattress Deals

Need a new bed? Now's one of the best times to shop. Mattresses go on sale many times throughout the year, but Black Friday means the offers can be even better than they would be during events like Memorial Day. We have a separate story dedicated to the best bed deals.

AeroGarden Harvest Indoor Garden for $90 ($60 off)

If you've always loved the idea of growing your own herbs or tomatoes, but you live in an apartment with little access to outdoor space, the AeroGarden Harvest Indoor Garden (8/10, WIRED Recommends) could be for you. It's a hydroponic setup for your countertop with a smart companion app that's easy to use, though the automatic colored lighting can be annoying.

Vacuum Deals

★ Ecovacs Deebot T8 AIVI Robot Vac for $500 ($250 off)—Click the Coupon Button

The WIRED Gear team loves this robot vacuum. It doubles as a mop, which helps it eviscerate any evidence that hardwood floors were ever dusty in the first place. This dipped to $470 during Black Friday, which beat last year's deal by $130.

iRobot Roomba 694 for $179 ($70 off)

This is one of iRobot's midrange Roombas, but it is still a solid pick if you're entering the world of robot vacuums. It sports a roller brush, a simple-to-use app, and it's quiet and powerful. Despite its price, its navigation abilities are pretty impressive.  It comes with Alexa or Google Assistant support.

Yeedi Vac Station for $320 ($180 off)—Click the Coupon Button

(Click the Coupon Button, Enter Code STATION30 at Checkout)

This self-emptying combination robot vacuum/mop will keep your floors clean with minimal effort. We mention it in our guide to the Best Robot Vacuums. The on-page coupon brings the price down lower than we've seen before. Add it to your shopping cart to see the deal price show up.

Yeedi K650 Robot Vacuum for $120 ($60 off)—Click the Coupon Button

This is the Best Cheap Robot Vacuum, and thanks to the on-page coupon, it's cheaper than ever. It runs for more than 100 minutes at a time, and it can deftly navigate obstacles like cords or stray socks.

Roborock S6 MaxV for $460 ($140 off)

Pet owners looking for one of the best robot vacuums should consider the S6 MaxV (7/10, WIRED Recommends). It is a powerful, fast vacuum, with long battery life. There's an optional mop attachment and a camera, and it can avoid any messes your dog may have deposited.

Eufy Robovac 11S Max for $160 ($90 off)

While this is an older model, we find Eufy robot vacuums to be reliable and easy to use, and this is a deep discount on an already affordable device. It's quite powerful, with reasonable battery life, but it is slow. Read our full review to learn more.

iRobot Roomba i3+ for $400 ($200 off)

Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, iRobot, Best Buy (Sold Out), Amazon (Out of Stock)

Topping our best robot vacuums guide, the Roomba i3+ doesn't just do a good job cleaning your floors, it even empties its own bin (though you will have to empty the big bin on the charging base from time to time). A full bin is the most common reason a robot vacuum stops cleaning effectively, so a self-emptying model that works is a big step up. Stock is limited, but you can still order it.

Eufy Robovac G30 Verge for $144 ($205 off)

This is a similar version to the G30 Edge we recommend in our robot vacuums guide. It comes with strips you can use for marking boundaries that you don't want the robot crossing.

iRobot Roomba E5 5150 Robot Vac for $200 ($150 off)

This item frequently goes in and out of stock, so check if it's available.

Robot vacuums have different features here or varying capacities there, but the bottom line is that they offer a convenient way to keep up with day-to-day dust-busting. Overall, we like iRobot models. The E5 5150 has special brushes to gather up pet hair, and it's smart enough to base its cleaning schedules around your daily routines. Our roundup of the Best Robot Vacuums has additional recommendations. Depending on your location, this vacuum might be out of stock.
