Late actor Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor’s younger brother Rajiv Kapoor breathed his last on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. The’Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ star has allegedly died of cardiac arrest. Rajiv Kapoor was 58 years old. He suffered a massive cardiac arrest, following which Randhir Kapoor rushed him to Inlaks Hospital, which was the closest medical facility near their residence in Chembur.

When contacted Randhir affirmed the sad and shocking information, saying,”I’ve lost my youngest brother, Rajiv. He is no more. The doctors tried their best but couldn’t save him.” He also added,”I’m at the hospital, awaiting his body” He was also the director of’Prem Granth’, which starred Rishi Kapoor in the lead.

Famous movie critic and trade analyst Komal Nahta broke the unfortunate news of Rajiv Kapoor’s demise on Twitter.

Several fans and celebs responded to his untimely demise and extended condolences. Initial reports indicate he suffered a cardiac arrest.

However, the household is yet to release an official statement.

Rajiv Kapoor aka Chimpu (fondly called by family and close friends) made his Bollywood debut in Ek Jaan Hain Hum back in 1983. He entered movies as a leading actor in daddy and veteran filmmaker-actor Raj Kapoor’s last directorial venture Ram Teri Ganga Maili in 1985.

Chimpu starred in several movies including Aasmaan (1984), Lover Boy (1985), Zabardast (1985) and also Hum To Chale Pardes (1988).

He was last seen in 1990 release Zimmedaar in 1990 and he turned to producing and directing, as per reports.
